VCG chats with Ayesha McGowan – 14/07/17
UPDATE: Missed the event? The full conversation with Ayesha was filmed! Watch the full video RIGHT HERE thanks to LDN Bike Kitchen! 🎥
Representation is important. If I’d seen another black person in cycling when I was a kid, maybe I would have been inspired to get into it sooner.
Ayesha McGowan – a.k.a A Quick Brown Fox.
Statements like this hit home hard with me… as do women like Ayesha McGowan. If you’re up on your cycling game you’ll know that Ayesha is on a mission to become the first female African American professional road cyclist. She’s also spent the last five years working her way up the ranks of the US racing scene, alongside tirelessly advocating for minorities in cycling and encouraging more people to get out on their bikes. Take a look at her ‘Do Better Together‘ virtual ride series and of course her Instagram account to see how baadass she is.
Now imagine my absolute thrill at being able to have a conversation with Ayesha on the London leg of her #FoxTrot17 tour. Presented by The Adventure Syndicate and hosted by Look Mum No Hands, I’ll be chatting with the Quick Brown Fox herself on 14th July. COME AND JOIN US and be prepared for some real-talk, peppered with putting the world to rights…
WHEN: Friday 14th July from 8pm – 10pm
WHERE: Look Mum No Hands! 49 Old St. EC1V 9HX
