Yes, I’m about to drop one of the most overused phrases of 2020… but its been a funny old year, hasn’t it?
Lots of cycling-related plans were written-off due to the pandemic, but I’m thrilled that one of them – the Kendal Mountain Festival – was still able to go ahead!
Although audiences were not allowed in The Brewery Art’s Centre for the festival, that didn’t stop the team behind #Kendal20 sharing it with the whole world… and I mean that in the truest sense. For its 40th anniversary, KMF went online, so people around the world could still get that feeling of adventure AND enjoy it from the comfort and safety of their own homes.
I had a BUMPER weekend taking part in KMF! It was an absolute joy (and an author goal of mine) to speak at the Kendal Mountain Literature Festival, where I chatted to the wonderful Kate Rawles about Back in the Frame. It was also a pleasure to co-host the Rapha Road Bike Session alongside local cyclist and Kendal Cycling Club Committee Member, Ben Dowman.
All of the Kendal Mountain/Literature Festival talks and sessions are available to watch on catch-up until 31st December. And as a special treat for followers of VeloCityGirl – use the code LADYVELO20 at checkout, which will get you 20% off all individual tickets and passes!
