FAQs:
What do you do?
I’m a freelance writer, public speaker and social media content creator. My first book, Back in the Frame – how to get back on your bike, whatever life throws at you, was published in Spring 2019 by Little, Brown. I’m also a voiceover artist and presenter, with experience in television (pre-recorded and live), radio and large-scale live events.
I’m self-employed: I can’t work for free, nor do I work in exchange for exposure. Please bear this in mind before getting in touch.
How long have you been blogging on VéloCityGirl?
I started VéloCityGirl in March 2010 when I got back into riding bikes again.
Do you write for publications outside of VCG?
Yes – if who I’m asked to write for and what I’m asked to write about is relevant to VCG and myself. Please think about the fee you’re able to offer for writing for you or your publication.
Would you speak or host at our event?
I’m open to discussions about hosting and public/panel speaking. Please think about the fee you’re able to offer, the structure of the event, if you can cover travel and accommodation costs, and exactly what you want from my presence at your event.
Heads-up: I do not engage in incendiary debates. This includes ‘Cyclists Vs Motorists’ style debates or any other discourse along those lines. I also don’t appreciate being contacted solely for Black grief and Black trauma soundbites. If your aim is to get me pressed on any of these subjects, you’re out of luck. Please do not contact me if that’s your intention: any requests received for things along those lines on any of my platforms will not be responded to.
Do you consider collaborations with brands, and paid & promotional content on your social media channels?
If your project is relevant to VéloCityGirl, my audience and me, I’m happy to consider it. Please take a look around my social media channels (Instagram | Twitter | Pinterest | Facebook) before getting in touch to see if we could work well together.
What’s the best way to get in touch?
Please visit my Contact page for details. Sending me DMs via Twitter or Instagram isn’t the best way to get hold of me as I rarely respond to contact requests on there.
About Lady Vélo
I started Vélo-City-Girl when I got my Pashley Princess in March 2010, after a ten year absence from the saddle. VCG is all about cycling and the many different forms it comes in, there is something for everyone.
