Hello! I’m Jools Walker – an award-winning author, freelance writer, host and public speaker.
My debut non-fiction book, Back in the Frame (How to get back on your bike, whatever life throws at you), was published by Little Brown UK in May 2019.
In October 2019, Back in the Frame was ranked No.5 in Book Authority’s “100 Best Cycling Books of All Time” awards list.
VéloCityGirl, focuses on different aspects of cycling, including cycle-style, adventures on two wheels, and how to widen participation in the activity. Leading UK publication BikeBiz named me as one of the most influential women in the UK cycling industry. US publication Bicycling Magazine listed me amongst their 107 Cycling Digital Superstars in the world to follow. Instagram recognised me as one of the most influential female storytellers in their #MyStoryUK campaign.
I’ve spoken about cycling culture on platforms as varied as BBC Newsnight, the Design Museum, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 6, Southbank Centre’s WOW Festival, Wilderness and at various literary festivals around the UK.
